Mining

Muzo, Colombia, is known as the Emerald capital of the world and is home to generations of proud emerald miners and craftsmen. Nestled in the western flank of the Eastern ranges of the Colombian Andes is a blessed land of rich soil and elevation where the world's best emeralds are cultivated.
The process begins in the verdant hills of Muzo, Colombia, where miners carefully extract emerald-bearing rock from the earth. This is done with hand tools and small-scale mining methods to preserve the integrity of the environment.
Once brought to the surface, the emerald-bearing rock is washed and sorted. The raw emeralds are then delicately extracted from their host rock by skilled workers who can identify and handle the gems without causing damage.
Unlike faceted gemstones that are cut and polished, raw emeralds used in Muzo Stone bracelets undergo a minimal polishing process to preserve their natural shape and texture while enhancing their inherent beauty. This step is crucial as it highlights the unique features of each stone.
Artisans craft each bracelet by hand, setting the polished raw emerald withing a braclet enclosure. The design of our bracelets is centered around showcasing the raw emerald natural elegance of the stone.
Each bracelet is then blessed by a local Shaman and will enhance the wearers luck, peace and good fortune.
